China has achieved enormous economic success in the past three decades and the financial system has played an important role in driving this growth. At the moment China's economic development is at a critical point as the world faces financial challenges and China continues to play an increasingly important role in the world economy. What do the current economic situations such as the EU debt crisis mean for China in terms of opportunity and challenges? What impact will international economic development have on China's next banking industry transformation?
AmCham China's Financial Services Forum invites you to a lunch presentation by Liu Mingkang, former chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), who will share his macroeconomic views on the world economy. Mr. Liu was appointed chairman in March 2003 and subsequently led the CBRC until October 2011 where he played a key role in developing the banking sector in China. Based on his research and experiences, he will provide his perspectives on China's industry transformation and upgrade.
