Building Corporate Trust Through Philanthropy
Correction: This event will take place on Monday, March 19, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, not Friday, March 16, as originally announced.
AmCham China’s Business Sustainability Committee and Women’s Professional Committee are pleased to host Kim Meredith, executive director of the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS), who will give a talk on "Building Corporate Trust Through Philanthropy." Stanford PACS is a research center where scholars, practitioners and leaders come together to explore ideas for social change.
Meredith will discuss models of philanthropic giving in the US and China. How to navigate the complex strategic and ethical questions that arise in corporate philanthropy? And how can business, government and charities collaborate?
As the inaugural executive director of the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS), Kim Meredith has been responsible for strong financial performance and organizational growth. Meredith joined in July 2009 and one year later led the team to acquire the Stanford Social Innovation Review. Prior to joining PACS, she served as the chief development officer for Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York City. Before joining PPFA, Meredith served for nine years as the chief operating officer at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate in San Francisco.
She graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in economics and broadcast communications. In 2005, she received a fellowship to attend the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders.
