About five to ten years ago, 'retailing' refers to either in store or online shopping. Now the explosive growth of non-traditional retailing spurs the rapid transformation of retail models to better serve customer needs. The diversified activities have made it difficult to define what the retailer is and does.
The past few years saw the booming of mobile payment, the rapid flop of the brick-and-mortal shopping, the overturned structure of consumer behaviors as well as the rise of Omni-Channel retailing. As long as the disruption and alternative businesses models remain, the industry players will have to keep reinventing their business to stay ahead.
AmCham China would like to invite the leaderships from member companies to share their best practices on retail revolution and/or smart resolution on changing the retail business model to cope with the fast-changing world.
