Why does gender pay gap still exist for women? A lot of statistics show that women are better educated than men but earn less and don’t climb the career ladder in the numbers we should. Is this by choice or is the fault of a culture that discriminates against women? How do we close the gap between expectation and reality? Is a change in work culture the answer? This panel will bring the attendees on how corporations advance Women’s Prism – Closing the Gap

Panel Discussion 2 – Male Champions

What is a male champion? A male champion is a high-ranking male leader who enacts best practices in mentoring while at the same time leveraging an “ally mentality”. In other words, a male champion works to support talented female leaders but also recognizes and combats bias that they might face along the way. Globally, men still dominate senior and board-level positions, it is important to remember that these men are also part of the fight for equality. Men can play an important role in empowering women within the workplace: this shouldn’t just be left to the traditional women’s network or the small number of senior women.

Panel Discussion – Why Women’s Health Matters

Focusing on women’s health does not mean ignoring men’s health, nor does it mean taking resources away from men’s health. It’s about acknowledging that women and men are different. According to the US Department of Health and Human Service Office on Women’s Health report, 2/3 women are solely responsible for family health care decisions,72% of informal caregivers are women, more women lack health care coverage than man, women’s health issues are different than men. Which means, it is really important that women are educated different health conditions at home and at the workplace too. A healthy woman means a healthy family as today's woman is sharing the responsibilities in the household as well as at the workplace equally.

Workshop – How to ask for a raise/branding yourself

Women ask and negotiate salary about 8 times less often than men. Over the course of a career not asking can have a serious impact on women’s wages. But researchers have also found that women who do ask are viewed as assertive, abrasive, pushy and not likeable. What’s a woman to do?
