Keeping Your Company Secure: Lunch Presentation by Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC)
AmCham China is pleased to invite you to a special brown-bag session featuring the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), a joint venture between the US Department of State and the private sector. OSAC serves as a forum for sharing best practices and tools in the overseas security environment to promote and protect competitiveness of American businesses operating worldwide. OSAC membership is open and free to any American not-for-profit organization or enterprise incorporated in the US (parent company, not subsidiaries or divisions). The briefing will cover three topics:
Introduction to OSAC: Chet Quint, OSAC - Beijing chairman and security director for the International School of Beijing
Regional Security Crime Report - Overview of the Situation in China with Information on Crime and Other Trends: Jamie Berlowitz, assistant regional security officer for Mission China.
Pandemic Awareness and General Health and Safety Overview - Review of H5N1 Tips and Updates: Elizabeth Yuan, health and human services health attaché
Information Security in a Cyber World: Overview of Cyber Threats and Mitigation Methods for the Average User (focal points include social media and basic protection solutions that can be implemented in the workplace and at home): Greg Mech, president and CEO of Vulpine Consulting Services
About OSAC: In 1985, a handful of chief executive officers from prominent American companies met with then-US Secretary of State George P. Shultz to promote cooperation between the American private sector worldwide and the U.S. government on security issues. The subsequent establishment of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) has developed into an enormously successful joint venture. Today, over 4,000 U.S. companies, educational institutions, faith-based institutions, and non-governmental organizations are OSAC constituents. OSAC provides a forum for sharing best practices and provides the tools needed to cope with today’s ever-changing challenges and security-related issues abroad.
