    Alan Beebe was appointed President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China on Mar. 14, 2016.

    Alan was an Executive Director based in Beijing, leading EY China’s Cleantech and Supply Chain and Operations (SC&O) practices. His clients include major global corporations, primarily diversified industrials and high-technology companies operating in China.

    Prior to joining EY, Alan held Executive positions with the China Greentech Initiative (CGTI), IBM, and management consulting firms AT Kearney and PRTM. He has twenty years of management consulting experience in the US, China and other Asian countries helping clients develop and implement sound business, operations and technology strategies. At EY China, he helps global clients transform their business models to drive new revenue opportunities and preserve profitability in China’s changing economic climate.

    From 2010 to 2013, Alan was a Managing Director with CGTI, a collaboration platform serving over 50 international energy and environmental companies. At CGTI, he led advisory services and strategic research across all major areas of energy and cleantech. In 2014, CGTI merged with the Paulson Institute, founded by Hank Paulson.

    Alan holds a Master’s degree from Yale University in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the United States. He is a Board of Advisor of the Yale Club of Beijing and in that capacity promotes academic and cultural exchanges between the United States and China. Alan has lived in China since 2002 and speaks Chinese fluently.

    Richard Robinson is a founding partner at nHack investing in Nordic startups and bringing them to China / Asia for market access, manufacturing, follow on funding, etc.

    Richard is a serial tech entrepreneur and executive, working in China since 1996. He has served as a senior executive at three companies from pre-IPO through to their public listings then went on to found five companies of which three have exited to publicly listed firms.

    Richard is an Adjunct Professor at Peking University's Guanghua MBA program teaching Entrepreneurship in China. Active as a startup advisor, mentor, and angel, Richard is a mentor at 500 Startups, Chinaccelerator and HAX. He frequently speaks at tech conferences globally, including serving as master of ceremonies at TechCrunch Beijing, Web Summit Lisbon and Dublin, GMIC Beijing and Silicon Valley, and Startup Asia Singapore and Jakarta.

    Richard earned an MBA from RSM at Erasmus University in the Netherlands, studied at Cambridge University in the U.K., and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

    Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is the Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures and President of Sinovation Venture’s Artificial Intelligence Institute. Sinovation Ventures, managing US$1.7 billion dual currency investment funds, is a leading venture capital firm focusing on developing the next generation of Chinese high-tech companies. Prior to founding Sinovation in 2009, Dr. Lee was the President of Google China. Previously, he held executive positions at Microsoft, SGI, and Apple. Dr. Lee received his Bachelor degree from Computer Science from Columbia University, Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as Honorary Doctorate Degrees from both Carnegie Mellon and the City University of Hong Kong. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Lee is the author of seven best selling books in Chinese, launching new book AI Superpowers (www.aisuperpowers.com) internationally in fall 2018, and has over 50 million followers on social media.

    In the field of artificial intelligence, Dr. Lee founded Microsoft Research China, which was named as the hottest research lab by MIT Technology Review. Later renamed Microsoft Research Asia, this institute trained the great majority of AI leaders in China, including CTOs or AI heads at Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba, Lenovo, Huawei, and Haier. While with Apple, Dr. Lee led AI projects in speech and natural language, which have been featured on Good Morning America on ABC Television and the front page of Wall Street Journal. He has authored 10 U.S. patents, and more than 100 journal and conference papers. Altogether, Dr. Lee has been in artificial intelligence research, development, and investment for more than 30 years.

    Terry Crawford is the Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of InitialView.

    Terry graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan Law School. After practicing mergers & acquisitions as a private equity lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in Hong Kong, New York, and Beijing, he founded InitialView.

    One of his first successes was convincing his wife Gloria that she needed to be a co-founder. InitialView has been a part of over 150,000 applications from students in over 100 countries to over 300 selective academic programs. It has become a critical part of the application process at many of the most selective colleges in the US.

    Recently InitialView has begun to capitalize upon its relationships with top US universities to build the first job platform connecting US-based Chinese students with top opportunities in China.

    Terry and Gloria live in Beijing with their three kids, all of whom attend local elementary and middle schools--and who speak much better Chinese than their parents.
