Please join AmCham China for the unique opportunity to hear from Mexico’s Ambassador to China, Julian Ventura, on the recent progress being made in the China-Mexico bilateral relationship and what that means for the US.
China and Mexico just completed the China-Mexico Strategic Economic Dialogue in Mexico City last month and the two countries voiced willingness to strengthen the China-Mexico strategic dialogue mechanism, which serves as a framework for the two sides to deepen mutual trust and conduct bilateral dialogues on strategic issues. Committed to multilateralism, China and Mexico stand ready to enhance dialogue and consultations within such multilateral frameworks as the United Nations, the Group of 20 and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, coordinate their positions and launch joint initiatives so as to reach consensus on major global issues.
The two sides also reached agreement to promote overall cooperation between China and Latin America and the Caribbean and make concerted efforts to establish a China-Latin America cooperation forum.
As Mexico carves out its own role and relationship with China, what is the impact and implications for the US and North America in general? How can the business communities of all three countries capture the opportunities? The tripartite relationship between the US, China, and Mexico is a critically important one. How can the three countries work closer together?
